Passionate about service, Teresa Mbagaya co-founded the Bidii Children Foundation, a non-profit that funds tuition for girls in Bungoma, Kenya. Through this initiative, Teresa works toward promoting equitable access to education. In her leadership role at her previous position with Econet, that organization’s investment and impact in education continue to send ripples of change throughout the nation.
EcoSchool is now operational, utilized by students from 24 institutions of higher learning with user adoption expected to reach 25% of total tertiary enrolment in Kenya by the end of this year’s first fiscal quarter.
Currently Teresa is with Microsoft as Education Lead for East and Southern Africa. Within this portfolio, she manages interests in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
