African Youth Convene in Dar to Discuss Governance

This August 3rd and 4th, African youth from nearly every country on the continent convened in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to discuss the most pressing issues of governance facing Africa. The 2016 Annual Youth Dialogue on Elections and Governance explored nation-building, term limits, and institutional reform, with three scholars including Dr. Claudious Chikozho, Dr. Tatenda Mukwedeya, and Dr. Catherine Namakula, presenting in-depth research papers. Dr. Nkosana Moyo, Executive Chairman of the Mandela Institute for Development Studies, presided over the event, with panelists including Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, currently serving in the Ministry of Industry, Trade, & Investment in Nigeria, Trevor Manuel, former Finance Minister of South Africa during Nelson Mandela’s tenure, and Idil Issa of the African Leadership Network.
