ALN Ventures mentor profile: Sneha Shah

Company: Thomson Reuters

Industries: Financial services, Data & analytics

Are you in the diaspora and thinking about a move back to Africa? Or maybe you’ve recently taken the plunge and are already here. Either way, you should get to know Sneha’s homecoming story—it’s sure to inspire you!

Sneha leads the Financial and Risk business for Thomson Reuters Africa. We’re very excited to have announced a new partnership with the company just a few days ago.

A Kenyan native and member of the WEF Global Agenda Council on Global Governance, Sneha was working in the US for 12 years before deciding the time was right for a move back. Thomson Reuters’ global and African clients are increasingly expanding their investment and presence here. So Sneha headed home: today, she leverages both her global knowledge and her local roots to drive the growth of Thomson Reuters across the continent.

If you’re an early-stage entrepreneur with a company in the financial services or data & analytics spaces, we hope you’ll consider applying for the ALN Ventures accelerator, so we can start to connect you to some of Africa’s finest minds in your industry. We also welcome applications from other sectors. And if you’d like to know more about Sneha, check out this feature from the great folks at How We Made It in Africa, and video footage of her at the recent Trading Africa Summit (Pt1 | Pt2). You can also follow her on Twitter at @snehasshah. Don’t forget to check out @ALNVentures while you’re in the neighborhood!
